A Google Calendar invitation can sit unanswered. Depending on settings, that tentative event may not occupy the slot the way an accepted meeting does, so colleagues and booking tools can still treat the time as open.
The invitation is real, but the calendar still looks free. Heldrey’s Invite Hold is a temporary Busy protection for matching pending invitations — not a second copy of the meeting with its private details.
The Heldrey rule
The rule lives in Heldrey. Matching unanswered invitations get a Busy hold for the same time. Heldrey does not copy the invitation title, description, or attendee list onto a second event.
