Custom connectors connect from Anthropic’s cloud, so Heldrey must be reachable from the internet. Production is. Claude Desktop uses the same connectors.
Anthropic’s help (read 15 September 2026) says custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise, and that Free plans allow one custom connector. Team and Enterprise owners add a connector for the organization first.
Leave the OAuth client id and secret empty. Heldrey registers the client itself. There is no client secret.
The allow page
Heldrey opens a page titled Allow [assistant] to use Heldrey? It shows:
- The assistant’s name, and whether its identity is verified metadata or self-registered
- Where it returns to, or that it is an app on this computer
- The four things it asks for — what you allowed
- Who you are signed in as
- Deny and Allow in the footer
The footer also says every rule the assistant proposes is validated and previewed, and becomes active only when you turn it on in Heldrey yourself.
If you see This request is no longer valid, start again from Claude. The request lasted 10 minutes.
Vendor plan limits on connectors: state only what Anthropic’s page says on the day you read it.
